Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Robot No. 31!

Robot No. 31 often says the Earth smiles in flowers, and brings us flowers to show they care about us. It’s always so special when a sweet little flower appears in my area, I know Robot No. 31 is near. They’re quiet, and calm, and sometimes appear out of nowhere like they were sneaking up on you, but really, they’re just bashful about how much they care, so they try to do it in small ways. The love that emits from Robot No. 31 is palpable. Their sweet smile can light up a room, and create warmth when most needed.

Robot No. 31 has reminded me that cheer can be shared in small ways, it doesn’t always need to be big, grand gestures!

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 119

Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Do-Gooder Robot No. 119!

Do-Gooder Robot No. 119 is ready to pull up their sleeves and put in some elbow grease. They’re one of the bravest robots I know, they’re not afraid of hard work.

Like their Inspiration, Rosie the Riveter, they’re ready to do what needs to be done – whatever “it” is at the time.

Robot No. 119 believes in a world where everything is possible and everyone is taken care of. They want others to be brave too, and to work toward a world that is fair and safe for all to be who and what they want.

That is why they’ve chosen to be a Do-Gooder for the Centre for Reproductive Rights. They want to leave a legacy that’s helped women to be free to decide about their health, their motherhood options, and that women are free to do so without discrimination.

Let’s help Robot No. 119 attain this vision, and let’s do some good together.

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 4

Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Do-Gooder Robot No. 4!

Do-Gooder Robot No. 4 is relatable in many ways. Even in their robot land, sometimes others are well-meaning but Robot No. 4 isn’t ready to talk, and sometimes they just have a resting face which belies how they feel.

Either way, Robot No. 4 has learned to just walk around with a smile on their face. It’s just easier because then they don’t have to explain why they aren’t smiling, or have to explain that nothing is wrong, or that they aren’t ready to talk about it yet.

Robot No. 4 wants to share that they understand this isn’t the greatest way to deal with things, but it can just be easier. Since they know how these situations often go, they also want to share that they are happy to lend an ear should you ever need. They’re a quiet robot who will just listen or just sit and hold your hand—whatever you need at the moment.

A donation is made to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America whenever Robot No. 4 goes to a new home.

Do you have a resting face that isn’t quite what others expect? Visit my Threadless Artist Shop and you can share your feelings with Robot No. 4! Join the Supermurgitroid family, where every robot has a story, and every story inspires change.

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 71

Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Robot No. 71!

Robot No. 71 got caught up in holiday decorating too! They figured out new code so that they could change their gauges to be more festive, and then were so excited to deck the halls with everything they could find!

Wreaths ended up being a bit more of a challenge than Robot No. 71 was expecting though. They thought it would be very easy to look through the centre and line it up with the hanger, and done! Right? Unfortunately, but no, it wasn’t that easy.

Something happened when Robot No. 71 looked through the centre, they’d get a bit dizzy, they couldn’t remember where they put the hanger, they would drop the hanger, they couldn’t find centre!

They were starting to get frustrated, when they asked for help. We figured out that focusing on my hand holding the hanger stopped them from being so dizzy, and stopped the hanger from falling too, making the rest of the job so much easier. They were so glad they decided to ask for help, they realized they couldn’t do it all on their own and I couldn’t help but think about how that’s how I feel during the holidays too.

Do the holidays overwhelm you too? Visit my Threadless Artist Shop and you can bring Robot No. 71 home so you can help each other through the holiday season!

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 54

Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Robot No. 54!

Robot No. 54 is always with their Gibson Les Paul. They play, practice, strum, polish, tweak, and generally love on their guitar all day long. Understandably, it’s their prized possession, best friend, and possibly even their soul mate. They don’t always crank it to eleven, but when they do, it’s amazing. They shred like no one’s watching. They are constantly oiling their joints to ensure they have flexibility in their finger joints. They are afraid of going out in the rain in case they get a bit rusty! We have four specific umbrellas for Robot No. 54, so that they can get to the garage on those rainy days–one to get there, one to get back, and extras for when they forget to replace them in one spot.

Every once in a while, Robot No. 54 will take requests, and we will all gather in the garage and they will serenade us. It’s beautiful to get to see them having such fun with our requests!

Wanna listen to Robot No. 54 all the time too? Come and bring them home from my Threadless Artist Shop and rock on together!

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 46

Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Robot No. 46!

One day Robot No. 46 was rummaging through the linen closest, and as I got closer, I realized they were saying “Booo – ooooo” to themselves. I asked if I could help, and they said we didn’t have the right sheet, they were too floral, stripey, and not white. They were quite upset, so we went shopping. Once we were in the aisle of sheets, I was looking at the twin sizes, and they said those were too small. I realized we weren’t shopping for the same thing.

Robot No. 46 was looking for a sheet to make a ghost costume! Their squeal of delight could be heard throughout the store when they found the perfect sheet! Robot No. 46 was so proud on Halloween night to have their perfect, crisp, white, plain, ghost costume. They got so much candy it was falling out of their bucket, and they were more than happy to share with the kids of the neighbourhood, making them even more popular on their most favourite day!

Do you love Halloween like Robot No. 46? Come and bring them home from my Threadless Artist Shop and celebrate together!

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 49

Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Robot No. 49!

Robot No. 49 had a day. They had a big plan for our Halloween decorations; it was themed, grand, and spooky. We were all so excited and were trying to help, but we ended up being more of a constraint.

Robot No. 49 ended up being so frustrated they needed a break, and had a seat on the stairs. Unfortunately, some of the decorations had been precariously placed leaning against the railing, and the pile toppled onto Robot No. 49 when they sat down.

Their head connector broke, and we had to wait until a replacement part came back in stock. This meant they had to carry their head on a plate, which of course made it so they couldn’t do all they wanted to on Halloween night.

When the kids started trick-or-treating, Robot No. 49 loitered by the door, just wanting to take in as much of the celebrations they could. When the kids started noticing Robot No. 49, they were delighted and thought it was perfect for Halloween.

This made Robot No. 49 so happy! They joined in the fun, and embraced their plate for the night!

Do you feel like you’re about to lose your head like Robot No. 34? They can help you cope, head over to my Threadless Artist Shop and find the item that will help you feel less alone in the mayhem!

House Portraits

“That house has character!”

Something that always strikes me is how buildings have personalities – more than just when people say, “That house has character.” And more than just when a house has two windows that look like eyes, though those are absolutely adorable houses that need to be acknowledged.

Old Houses

Some buildings are so old that it’s even hard to imagine all the things they’ve seen and the stories they have to tell. I’ve said it before (Abandoned Houses Art Prints) but really, houses should come with a book of all the people who have lived there, what they did, what renovations they did, what happened during floods, wars, all of it!

where To Call Home?

I often think I feel like this because I moved around a lot until I was 25 years old. At one point I’d moved 13 times in 9 years. I’d had enough and wanted to find somewhere I could call home and unpack all the boxes I’d been lugging around.

why House Portraits?

I know that not everyone feels like this, but I do know that the places we live are special to us – it’s a mighty thing to have a roof over our heads right? I think this puts me in a unique position to be able to tell the story of your home.

Old House B: A quaint two story house on a slanted road with some scraggly bushes out front. It has cute little details along the front porch. The print is black and white and 8x10 inches.

I don’t have a preference to what the house looks like, but it’s the story that comes with it. Is it the first place the person purchased? Is it where their family was born and grew up? Is it where they were born and grew up? Maybe it’s a grandparent’s house that is full of nostalgic and warm feelings.

Does a portrait have to be of a person?

I absolutely don’t think so!

I like being able to create a piece of art for someone that they can hold onto – they can take home with them wherever they are.

I’d love to be able to do this for you too!

I work digitally or with watercolour paints – you get to decide which medium you’d like your house portrait in! They each have the same fee, so it’s really up to you.

Old House C: An old mansion style house that has Victorian details. The green overgrown grass covers the bottom of the house. The print is black and white with a bit of green, and 8x10 inches.

If you have a home in mind that you would love to commemorate on your walls, or need a special nostalgic gift for someone, I’d like to invite you to check out my House Portraits page, and get in touch with me to start your project!

Thank you for spending part of your day with me, I really appreciate it.

Take care,

Leslie

Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Robot No. 34!

When I first met Robot No. 34, we actually had to talk about how 4:30 a.m. is a bit early to be listening to The BeeGees. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a massive fan of the band, but not of the time! They completely understood, and we installed a headphone jack and a got good pair of headphones for them to use.

It is impossible to not smile when Robot No. 34 is movin’ and groovin’ on their skates as they roll around the house and the neighbourhood. They find such joy in their music, they completely lose themselves when they’re in the groove. They tend to smile when they dance, and I just know that they’re in their happy place. It’s a joy to be privy to these experiences.

Do you feel like you’d like to boogie with Robot No. 34, they can be found in my Threadless Artist Shop!
