Introducing Do-Gooder Supermurgitroid Robot No. 151

It’s R Day my friends, and I would like to introduce Supermurgitroid Robot No. 151 who is a Do-Gooder for World Central Kitchen.

Not long after Do-Gooder Robot No. 151 arrived, we were walking in one of our neighbourhoods with a lot of little boutiques, they stopped mid-step in front of one of the windows. I almost missed they’d stopped it happened so fast!

They were stuck in awe for a moment, and almost couldn’t hear me asking what was so good. But then I saw we were in front of a bakery with a big display of doughnuts. They had all the flavours you could imagine, plus a few more! So many colours and textures!

Robot No. 151 begged me to go inside so we could get some. The smell inside was so comforting, I was a bit sad that robots can’t smell, but seeing the look on Robot No. 151’s face told me they didn’t miss out on anything!

We got a box of doughnuts to take home and show the others. The whole way, Robot No. 151 kept the box lid open and inspected each doughnut with such admiration and awe. When I told them doughnuts were a bit of a luxury, they were aghast. And that’s when they decided to be a Do-Gooder for World Central Kitchen, so that everyone can have good comforting food when they need it the most.

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 42

It’s R Day my friends, and I would like to introduce you to my Supermurgitroid friend, Robot No. 42.

Robot No. 42 has so many references to our Dracula! Count Orlak, Bela Lugosi, Moonlight, and so many more! It boggles my mind how they put it all together.

They love the lore about garlic warding off vampires. They despise the smell of garlic — raw or cooked — and we often giggle that they truly are a vampire through and through. Whenever there’s a blood moon, Robot No. 42 stands at the window admiring it, lost in thought. I am always so curious where their mind goes during those times, but it’s such a private moment I never want to interrupt. Someday I will ask, until then, it’s another mark on the calendar that we know is a special day.

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 107

It’s R Day my friends, and I would like to introduce you to my Supermurgitroid friend, Robot No. 107.

Robot No. 107 was so excited to be included in the activities for the first week of school. Their eyes got so big when they learned about school photos and how there can be different backgrounds. They looked on the internet for different examples, but weren’t finding quite what they had in mind. They asked to see some of my school photos and their jaw dropped when they saw my grade three photo. They insisted on using that background, and they couldn’t be more excited about sharing this photo with all their friends!

Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Robot No. 118!

It’s R Day my friends, and I would like to introduce you to my Supermurgitroid friend, Robot No. 118.

Robot No. 118 is digging their heels in! They’ve declared they don’t want summer to end – ever!

They love to spend time outside – it doesn’t matter if it’s raining or the sun is shining bright, as long as it’s summer.

Each morning, they sit on the patio for their breakfast, they only come in for a few moments at noon to cool off and fill up on coolants, then they’re right back out there – exploring, hiking, biking, beaching, gaming, all the things!

I aspire to be as active as they are! I’m so pleased I get to see them soaking it all up.

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 117

Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Robot No. 117!

Robot No. 117 is a lover of summer and of nature! They love all the things summer brings – especially the flowers and the bees! They’ve worked with Robot No. 47 and Robot No. 123 to secure a spot of our garden where they’ve planted many wildflowers and have set up a bee hive – working with a local honey farmer!

It’s so exciting to see Robot No. 117 embrace their passion, learn all they can about it, and thoroughly enjoy their summer pitting it all into practice.

I believe them when they tell me dreamily that this summer is going to be the bees’ knees!

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 150

Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Robot No. 150!

Robot No. 150 is a quiet friend. They came through the portal with no assumptions or true ambitions beyond being curious and wanting to learn. They’re quietly confident and are just as happy listening as they are talking or teaching. They’re a calming presence, and everyone who meets Robot No. 150 almost always says that it feels like they’ve known them forever.

I am often in awe of Robot No. 150. To be so strong, confident, and metal, but also so soft, kind, and gentle. I tend to check in with Robot No. 150 and make sure they have what they need, maybe more than I do the others. I guess I want to know if they’re ok because it seems like such a complex way to be, but they carry it so easily.

I just don’t want to take them for granted. They’re so happy enjoying the moment, trying to make their world a better place just by being a good friend, an open-minded robot, and kind being. They’re so important to our group, and I don’t want them to lose this spirit.

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 112

Please let me introduce my friend, Do-Gooder Supermurgitroid Robot No. 112!

Do-Gooder Robot No. 112 is an atomic friend with a big heart. They are a cheerleader each and every person and robot they meet.

One day they got a bit concerned about a conversation they overheard between two humans and they came to me to talk about it. The humans were quite upset, worrying about something in the future, they weren’t sure they were doing good enough, and they seemed so upset.

From what Robot No. 112 has observed though, each human they meet is doing their best and giving all they have. They think we are slaying the game, and that we are very hard on ourselves. Robot No. 112 wishes they could tell everyone they meet that we are our harshest critics, and then they’d give us their feedback about how awesome the thing we made is, or how fabulous we are – whatever we need to hear at the time.

Because of this, Robot No. 112 makes a donation is made to ADAA (Threadless) or CMHA (Etsy, Square, In-Person) whenever Do-Gooder Robot No. 112 makes a new friend.

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 12

Please let me introduce my friend, Do-Gooder Supermurgitroid Robot No. 12!

This little bot has a piece of my heart intertwined into its core. Do-Gooder Robot No. 12 came looking for a glass of water at 3 am, but really, they just wanted to snuggle and have another bedtime story. Who could blame them? It was dark after a long day of travel to a new world. Robot No. 12 found it hard to be apart from the beings that are around all day, especially when they’re the ones who provide comfort and such warm feelings.

They settled in for the night after another good snuggle and reassurance that we’d be there in the morning. It can be tough to be a sensitive little bot. Because they’re made of metal, there’s an expectation of hardness. But it doesn’t always work that way. Each little bot is different, and has different things that bring comfort. I’m happy this little one was able to tell me they needed something, and that I was able to help them rest. I look forward to more snuggles, and more moments to connect with Robot No. 12.

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 31

Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Robot No. 31!

Robot No. 31 often says the Earth smiles in flowers, and brings us flowers to show they care about us. It’s always so special when a sweet little flower appears in my area, I know Robot No. 31 is near. They’re quiet, and calm, and sometimes appear out of nowhere like they were sneaking up on you, but really, they’re just bashful about how much they care, so they try to do it in small ways. The love that emits from Robot No. 31 is palpable. Their sweet smile can light up a room, and create warmth when most needed.

Robot No. 31 has reminded me that cheer can be shared in small ways, it doesn’t always need to be big, grand gestures!
