Hi! I’m Leslie
I am a watercolour, pencil crayon, and digital artist, papier-mâché sculpture creator, and art toy maker. My art has always been with me, I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil.
Many of my inspirations come from nostalgia for my childhood…
(keep reading to learn more about me!)
…horror movies from the 1920s-1950s, vintage toys, Golden Books, Saturday morning cartoons, spending hours in the garden with my grandpa, and spending the other hours baking with my grandma.
I like off-beat things, but I also believe embracing my weird is what makes me Leslie. The eclectic things I like are whimsical and fun, they can do good and be positive influences. Focusing on the juxtaposition between organic and inorganic creatures using many different materials helps me explore emotions, vulnerability, and connectivity.
As I’ve grown as an artist, I’ve wanted to help uplift others. I want to make people smile, relate to a robot’s story, find something nostalgic, be reminded of a happy memory, or know they aren’t alone in their feelings. That’s why there is the Do-Gooder art prints – each Do-Gooder donates 10% of their proceeds to an organization as it fits with the piece.
I also don’t want to impact the Earth; I want to leave it a better place than when I got here. I like working with Threadless because of their sustainability promise, and where possible I ship my pieces in 100% recyclable or compostable packaging.
In my path to respect the past and pave the way for the future, I’m searching for whimsy, so I end up making it.
Let me be your source of whimsy and wonder!

I proudly make all my items by hand, with my own printer and other equipment in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
