Please let me introduce my friend, Supermurgitroid Robot No. 34!

When I first met Robot No. 34, we actually had to talk about how 4:30 a.m. is a bit early to be listening to The BeeGees. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a massive fan of the band, but not of the time! They completely understood, and we installed a headphone jack and a got good pair of headphones for them to use.

It is impossible to not smile when Robot No. 34 is movin’ and groovin’ on their skates as they roll around the house and the neighbourhood. They find such joy in their music, they completely lose themselves when they’re in the groove. They tend to smile when they dance, and I just know that they’re in their happy place. It’s a joy to be privy to these experiences.

Do you feel like you’d like to boogie with Robot No. 34, they can be found in my Threadless Artist Shop!

Take care and thank you for being here,

Leslie

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 114

Please let me introduce my friend, Do-Gooder Supermurgitroid Robot No. 114!

Do-Gooder Robot No. 114 is a quiet robot, and in our quiet house, sometimes it’s easy to lose them. However, I’ve learned that the first place to look is the kitchen. They’re usually pouring over my large cookbook collection, or (even better) baking up something sweet and delicious!

While they don’t say much, their sweet treats say everything. They are warm, gooey, delicious, sweet, and unctuous. You can taste the love that has been put into them. They don’t need to be exceptionally talkative when their actions do all the talking.

One of the things I love most about Robot No. 114 is that if they see anyone in the house having a struggle, they drop everything and bake up that robot’s favourite treat!

A bit ago, there was a storm and it left some people without power, and the first thing Robot No. 114 did was bake up some bread and treats to take to them. They said we were lucky to be spared, so we needed to help those who weren’t so lucky.

Do-Gooder Robot No. 114 wants to ensure that everyone has the food they need during scary times like in the wake of natural disasters, a donation is made to World Central Kitchen when they go to a new kitchen. So please help them find their way to your kitchen by visiting my Threadless Artist Shop!

Take care,

Leslie

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 17

Please let me introduce you to my Supermurgitroid friend, Robot No. 17!

Robot No. 17 burst into my kitchen on the first day we met, they had a piece of paper in their hand and were waving it about and talking so fast I had to quickly catch up. They knew they were the seventeenth robot to come through, and they knew there were many others to come, and they claimed my pantry was lacking!

The paper they were waggling about was a grocery list and meal menu for the next few weeks! They were insisting on coming to the butcher with me, and were telling me how they’d researched different markets for us to go and get specific ingredients. My jaw was on the floor and I thought for more than a moment that they were just being overly critical of my shopping and cooking skills.

I realized though that they truly believe food is love, and their way of taking care of all of us was to feed us. To feed our souls, our brains, and our bellies. If we are nurtured by the food we eat, then we will have all we need for our day.

Because Robot No. 17 wants to ensure that everyone has the food they need, a donation is made to World Central Kitchen when they go to a new kitchen. So please help them find their way to your kitchen by visiting my Threadless Artist Shop!

Take care,

Leslie

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 63

Please let me introduce you to my Supermurgitroid friend, Robot No. 63!

The first thing anyone learns about Robot No. 63 is that their love for animals is the most important thing to them. Usually, they’ll open a conversation with something regarding an article they read about animals, or what the zoo’s latest social media post was about.

When they found a stray black cat in the neighbourhood, they immediately brought it home. The have nursed it back to health, and now they have to limit the number of treats our house cat gets because they are getting a bit overweight. (It’s hard when so many of us in the house are animal lovers!) Robot No. 63 has to keep reminding us that we can’t shower the house cat with so much love in the form of food. It’s a tough sell, but we’re making progress.

If you would like to share your love of black cats, Robot No. 63 is available in my Threadless Artist Shop!

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 79

Please let me introduce you to my Supermurgitroid friend, Robot No. 79!

Do-Gooder Robot No. 79 is happily living in the moment. They always make time for play, for fun, for connection, for seriousness, for loudness, and for calm.

They continue to teach me about balance, and grace. They’ve taught me that living in the moment doesn’t mean we don’t have any ambition, nor does it mean that we have everything planned out to the minute. It just means that each day we are right where we are meant to be. Each piece of the day is a building block to make tomorrow one step closer to the goal. Each piece is important, otherwise the foundation for tomorrow is not as strong as it could be.

For right now I’m going to sit with Robot no. 79 and blow some bubbles, and know that this is important. If you would like to join us, and make a donation to ADAA (through your purchase), Robot No. 79 is available in my Threadless Artist Shop!

Take care,

Leslie

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 89

Please let me introduce you to my Supermurgitroid friend, Robot No. 89!

When Robot No. 89 came to the house, they had a carefully constructed and packed wagon full of their most favourite plants and roller skate wheels.

It seems like at least once a week Robot No. 89 is going to the garden centre and bringing home and new plant. We almost have a jungle in the house — and we love it. They have such a green thumb and keep every plant thriving! They even rejuvenated each sad little house plant I had before they arrived! They’ve brought in plants that I didn’t even think was possible to keep in our house. They know just how to water, where there is the best light, and they pick the best pots too.

Robot No. 89 is so happy that spring is around the corner, if you are too, Robot No. 89 is available at my Artist Shops: Threadless Artist Shop or Art of Where.

Take care,

Leslie

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 5

Please let me introduce you to my Supermurgitroid friend, Robot No. 5!

Robot No. 5 was quick to come and see me. They wanted to be one of the first to see the new world. They’re definitely a trail-blazer.

When they heard that we had the Pop Art movement they had an odd sense of calm and like they were home. They have read all my books on Pop Art and have been scouring for items to collect – they seem to know just where to look. They’ve been asking if I know of Elvis, Andy Warhol, Debbie Harry, and the like; it’s been hard to tell them that some of them have passed on, melancholy sets in and it takes a bit for them to work their way around it. I’ve heard rumours that parts of Robot No. 5 were actually built in the Factory, but based on what I’ve seen I have no doubt.

They were truly shocked when we went to the grocery store and they were able to buy a can of Campbell’s soup! I tried to tell them I was pretty sure it wasn’t exactly the same can, but I’m not entirely sure I was heard because their excitement just ran so deep.

Robot No. 5 wants everyone to know that anything can be art – art is for all! That whatever your creative outlet is – let it shine, do the thing, make the stuff, and share it with the world!

Robot No. 5 and I want to celebrate Pop Art this month, if you’d like to join us, Robot No. 5 is available at my Artist Shops: Threadless Artist Shop or Art of Where.

Take care,

Leslie

Introducing Supermurgitroid Robot No. 74

Please let me introduce you to my Supermurgitroid friend, Robot No. 74!

I was checking in with my Supermurgitroid robot friends to make sure everyone had warm clothes for winter when I met Robot No. 74. They told me they’d heard about winter and snow and were so excited.

They began to help me give everyone their winter gear and I could see they were thinking hard, and so I asked about what? They said, “I am noticing that all the gear is quite heavy, but also fuzzy, why?”

I tried to explain that it gets quite cold here in Manitoba, it takes a big drop in temperature to make rain into snow. So we need to bundle up in heavy, fuzzy, warm items to keep cozy. I could see they couldn’t quite wrap their thoughts around this. I hoped that I’d be able to help them understand as it gradually got colder.

When the first snowflakes started to fall, Robot No. 74 ran out and was joyfully trying to catch them all! It was quite the sight to see. However, after day seven of gray clouds, more snow, and even colder temperatures, much of the joy had left. The reality of winter was starting to set in.

I knew it was time to do something! I got a few Supermurgitroid friends to come with Robot No. 74 and I to go tobogganing! We packed cookies and hot chocolate and made sure we were all bundled up good. I could see the change in all of them, but especially Robot No. 74. Their eyes started to sparkle again, and they giggled-a sound unlike anything I’ve heard before!

Robot No. 74 asked about other activities we could do, so we went skating, and we will go hiking later on too in between visits to the hill for tobogganing.

Robot No. 74 is grateful for the warm clothes, they understand without them winter would be unbearable, but with them it can be great adventures. Now when they see the others getting a bit gloomy, Robot No. 74 is the first to grab their scarf and toque and get everyone moving!

I hope we all have a bit of Robot No. 74’s joy this winter. If you need a bit of a boost and a way to stay warm until the snow melts, Robot No. 74 is available at my Artist Shops: Threadless Artist Shop or Art of Where.

Take care,

Leslie
